Wellness Rising LLC provides occupational and physical therapy services for adults of all ages. Our practice framework is a biopsychosocial model meaning that we consider a person's biology (physical health), psychology (mental and emotional health) and socio-environmental factors (family dynamics, culture and traditions, and standard of living). We assess how these aspects may be contributing to a decline in health and how by addressing the whole person we can facilitate healing, health and wellness for our clients. Our therapists collaborate for a comprehensive plan of care to ensure we are all working toward meeting goals that are most important to our client.
Wellness Rising is a hybrid model of healthcare that employs traditional rehabilitation skills like functional activities, LSVT and exercise alongside complementary approaches such as somatic therapy, Reiki, Tai Chi, yoga and other movement-based treatment. When indicated, we teach breathwork, mindfulness and stress management strategies as a foundation to optimal health. We believe that we are not just our bodies, and that these modalities provide a comprehensive healing experience by addressing the physical body and the emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of being human.
Integrating the best of traditional and non-traditional
healing approaches is what sets up apart!
Occupational therapy provides treatment to help you return to engagement in meaningful and purposeful activities for living a rich and productive life.
LSVT BIG is an exercise and movement program that trains people with Parkinson's Disease (PD) and other neurological conditions to use more normal movement patterns, gestures and actions for everyday activity.
Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing modality that is also used for stress reduction and relaxation.
Reiki is provided by channeling the life force energy or chi that
flows through us all.
When chi is channeled, your
body's natural healing is activated and restoration of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being is achieved.
The way we move in and through our world is a reflection of our state of being. New or past trauma, stress of daily life, anxiety and chronic pain impact our productivity, interactions and quality of life. Connecting with the wisdom of your body through a compassionate, gentle treatment approach called Transformative Touch can unlock the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical memories and truths living deep within. These truths and memories live as messages which can be accessed and then serve to open you to a new way of thinking and being and lead you on a path to health and healing.
Somatic therapy ultimately works by empowering and educating you about the mind-body connection. It helps you to understand the meaning of the emotions hidden underneath sensations and physical habituations. Somatic therapy guides you to pay attention to the messages and somatic noticings like temperature, pain or tingling through sometimes unexpected unfoldings of images, color or emotions. These awarenesses can be integrated into the way you interact with your environment, revealing a whole new way of moving through daily life.
